Yogi Devgan is an award-winning filmmaker, writer, director, and producer based in Australia. Most of his work reflects his multicultural roots and his passion for meaningful, human-centered storytelling. In recognition of his contribution to arts and culture, he received the Governor’s Multicultural Award 2025 and was nominated for the Citizen of the Year Award in both 2023 and 2025 for his community contributions.
A graduate of the University of South Australia with a Bachelor of Film and Television, Yogi founded Mount Lofty Studios, dedicated to bold and authentic storytelling that explores themes of diversity, inclusion, and social impact. His short film I Am OK is a 2026 contender for the AACTA Awards, while A Silent Escape has won multiple international awards and is streaming globally on Chaupal. His documentary Smile, It’s Free also received international recognition. His film Unbreakable Stride won both the South Australian Award and the Major Award in Sydney at the Focus on Ability Film Festival and is streaming on SBS On Demand as part of the festival’s official program.
In 2026, Yogi was appointed to the South Australian Film Corporation’s Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Group (DIAG) for a two-year term, continuing his commitment to strengthening diversity and inclusion across the screen industry. His feature adaptation of A Silent Escape was selected for the SAFC Diversity Development Grant, supporting the development of an international co-production between Australia and India.
Beyond filmmaking, Yogi founded the Port Adelaide Diversity and Inclusion Film Festival and the Australian Film Diversity and Inclusion Foundation (AFDIF) Film Festival to champion diverse voices in cinema.
